Why can we create the top-rated coccyx seat cushion in the market?

Here are the before and after stories of this project that we hope to share with you.

In January 2016, our customer feedback center colleague Sam provided feedback to the R&D team on a common customer demand: Many customers and colleagues, due to long-term sitting at desks, driving cars, some lumbar pelvic surgery, and some long-term wheelchair use, felt very uncomfortable and even experienced lumbar pain. They hoped we could help them develop a product to relieve the pressure on the tailbone.

At the same time, our colleagues in the call center felt the same way, so on February 17, 2016, our team decided to form a Jason-centric project team to find a solution to help everyone and our colleagues.

To find the perfect solution, our market researcher Robin spent 60 days visiting orthopedic centers, nursing homes, truckers' clubs, aircrew clubs, rehabilitation centers, etc. to collect relevant data.

After 177 design optimizations and Dr. Leon's advice, we finally chose to use the U-model tailbone part hollow cushion as our product shape. The U-shaped hollow part will not touch the tailbone point of force, thus avoiding pressure on the tailbone. We all believed this was a very good idea!

Our engineering department started to make the mold, and after 10 improvements, we finally produced a cushion with a size that fits most of our customers. Of course, it doesn't fit all people, as it's hard to adjust to everyone's needs.

Finally, we worked with Dr. Leon Davis to confirm a perfect solution: the intention to design an ergonomic gel aero tailbone-memory foam cushion. We found the special memory foam used by NASA to protect astronauts and improved the density. After 37 experiments, we succeeded in developing a high-density aviation memory foam material that is comfortable, soft, and supportive enough, which we defined as Ifoam. The CYLEN coccyx seat cushion was born.

After 180 days of hard work, we finally designed a product that perfectly fits Sam's vision of the CYLEN Ifoam.

In May 2016, our customer feedback center colleague SAM asked that our cushion cannot produce too much heat, must be comfortable, and the most important thing is that it must be supportive and not flat. He also asked our R&D to take into account the convenience of carrying and to prevent sliding. We all thought his requirements were too much, but soon the collapse came again, and he gave us two more requirements: 1. Jacket convenient machine wash. 2. Free reason for return or replacement.

At the end of 2016, we launched a small-scale internal test version, and Sam began to collect a lot of customer feedback. Through his after-sales research on the entire market products and customers, we were surprised to find that our tailbone cushion firmly occupies the position of the highest score of word of mouth, 4.5 out of 5 stars from more than 100,000 customers' shopping experience sharing.
